Maria Ader

2.8.10 - 6.8.10

There is no ultimate way of defining oneself in a postmodern condition with multiplicity of narratives.
Maria Ader portraits herself through cultural cliches, like Jean-Luc Godard`s movie "Une Femme est une Femme", choosing an abstract idea of female to offer an illusion of integrity. The paintings are combined with literary text of Estonian writer chaneld:or as "inspiring source material", which, by the force of central female narrative, are deconstructed to represent the essence of visual content.
